Center for the Blind in Hue, Vietnam

While visiting a friend in the Thua Thien-Hue Province of Vietnam, Gabby stopped at the Hue Center for the Blind, and was appalled at the conditions.

The historic city of Hue is known as one of the wettest cities in all of Asia. After several floods, the school's condition deteriorated and presented a very unsafe condition for the resident students and faculty.

In order to keep up with repairs, the school ended programs, reduced teacher salaries, and closed off rooms that were too badly damaged. This was not enough, and soon, the school functioned primarily as a day care center, and faced having to close its doors for good.

The school turned to several sources asking: Who will help?
Gabby responded, "I will!"

Gabby returned to the US where she formed the charity, "Eye Will, Inc."
Within a year, they raised the funds needed to repair and rebuild many parts of the school.

Along with structural repairs, Eye Will, Inc. also provided the school with much needed supplies. This included furniture for the sleeping areas, appliances for the kitchen, and canes, braillers, braille paper and magnifiers for the students, and a computer with a braille printer for staff use.

Eye Will, Inc. also paid the teachers' salary for one year.

Gabby gave the students a new vision for hope that would last a lifetime.

And through the inspiration for Eye Will, Inc., the students returned the favor!
